Maltese are bright, playful little dogs that delight in their
owners' attention. Although they are active and love to
play, they are also happy to cuddle! They have a long silky
single coat, that does not shed. The Maltese are rated as
being good for allergy sufferers.
Maltese come in a single coat color -white- with dark eyes
and noses. They are related to the Bichon, Coton de Tulaar
and Havanese family of breeds and have been known in
Europe for at least 500 years. The breed was originally
called wither The Maltese Terrier or Maltese Spaniel and
the breed has personality characteristics of both.
